Tools that find decks you can build from your collection, compared
There are two kinds of tool. Generators build a new deck for you from the cards you own, usually around a commander you pick, often with AI: BinderBrew, ManaBuilder and BulkBrew work this way. Finders do the opposite: they look for decks other players already built and tell you how close your collection is to each; DeckScout works this way. Deck builders like Moxfield and Archidekt keep your collection and mark the cards you own in a deck you open or build.

Which one to use
- You want to know which proven decks you are closest to, in Commander or a 60-card format: DeckScout.
- You have a commander in mind and want a full list built from your cards: a generator, such as BinderBrew, ManaBuilder or BulkBrew.
- You already know the deck and keep your collection on Moxfield or Archidekt: they show what you own of it. DeckScout can also check one exact deck from a link or a pasted list.
How this was checked
The descriptions come from each tool's own pages, read on 14 October 2026. Tools change: if something here is out of date, write to [email protected] and it will be corrected. DeckScout is one of the tools compared, and this page is written by its maker.
Questions
Is there a free tool that shows which decks I can build from my collection?
Yes. DeckScout is free: load your collection's CSV and it ranks real decks by how much of each you own. One search needs no account.
What is the difference between a deck generator and DeckScout?
A generator writes a new list from your cards. DeckScout finds lists other players already built and tells you how close you are to each.
